Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial title for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has had a challenging year, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-time trainer his previous coach.

Presently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden title since the Italian tournament and first on a hard court after spring of 2023.

Success also indicates he has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 different tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to win a trophy is really nice," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, comprising in that event in the past months.

His retrieving play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serving game.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the final five points to go ahead.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his first tour victory, seized the initiative to force a third set.

The opponent rescued 4 early break points in a competitive final set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
